In October 1965 all Bentleys and Rolls-Royces gave way to a new four-door saloon with integral construction and self levelling independent suspension. Known as the Bentley T-type or Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, it had been under development for nearly ten years, with the first prototype running in 1957. Its design reflected changing tastes, for customers wanting a car with a lower profile, both figuratively and literally: one that yielded nothing in quality to its predecessors but was less obviously a display of the owners' wealth. At least that was the reasoning, but it must be open to doubt because the T series was outsold by ten to one by the more ostentatious Silver Shadow, if only because of its Rolls radiator. The Bentley T series was available as a four door saloon and as a long wheelbase four door saloon. A small number of two door saloons were built with coachwork by James Young and Mulliner Park Ward and a very limited number of two door convertible with coachwork by Mulliner Park Ward was introduced in September 1967 which became the Bentley Corniche in 1971.

This rare Bentley T-Type Mulliner/Park Ward Convertible, one of only forty one built between 1967 and 1971, was registered in the United Kingdom on 13th January 1970. This car is fitted with the more desirable three speed automatic gearbox and modified suspension. In the 1980's this car was sold and exported to the USA where she resided until September 2010, at some time, early within this period the car was subject to a new coat of paint changing the colour from blue to gunmetal grey. This Bentley T Type is described as running well with no visible signs of rust. Coming from a dry State in the USA has meant the interior leather and wood work will require restoration or replacement as will some of the paintwork requires attention. This is a very rare opportunity to purchase one of the rarest post war Bentleys ever built.
