The Diablo SV was introduced in 1995 at the Geneva motor Show, reviving the 'super veloce' title first used on the Miura SV. The name itself is of a particularly fierce fighting bull of the nineteenth century, and it proved to live up to its expectations. The Countach's follower could not be a conventional car, of course, and it had to be extreme, spectacular, forceful and uncommon: the Diablo was all this. And more.


The SV was based on the standard Diablo, a notable feature of which was an increase in horsepower to 510hp. An adjustable rear spoiler was also installed as standard equipment and could be colour-matched to the car body or formed from carbon fibre. Other exterior changes included black tail lamp surrounds, repositioned rear fog and reverse lamps, as on the SE30, dual front fog lamps (rather than the quad style found on all previous models), an extra set of front brake cooling ducts, a ducted engine lid similar to that installed on the Diablo SE30 Jota, and optional ""SV"" decals for the sides of the car. The SV also featured larger diameter front brakes and a corresponding increase in front wheel size to 18 inches.

With just four owners in the 14 year history of this most striking example, P11 LAM is in near perfect condition. It comes complete with both Lamborghini main agent service history and Lamborghini specialist history and drives as well as it did in 1997. It benefits from a set of new Michelin Pilot Sports tyres on the unmarked split-rim wheels and a rear wing in the contrasting black option. The interior is black Alcantara throughout with SV monograms in yellow on the head rests. It comes, as you would expect, with the Lamborghini owners pack, spare keys, service history, new and old MoT test certificates (12 months) and V5C registration document. The air-conditioning is cold and the usual problems with the general maintenance of supercars such as cracked pipes and oil leaks due to lack of use, are simply not to be found.

In the words of Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, the Diablo was designed ""solely to be the biggest head-turner in the world.""-and it still is.
