HISTORICS CELEBRATE LANDMARK SALE
With Brooklands as
a backdrop and a catalogue stuffed with good quality, well priced
cars, Historics were already off to a flying start. THe weather,
whilst terrible during viewing, was splendid on sale day and with
over an estimated 500 attendees, it was literally standing room
only.
Edward
Bridger-Stille took to the rostrum alongside Edward Rising and
between them, presented each car and began the sale.
Highlights
included the sale of the works MGB for over £141,000, the Blower
Bentley for over £670,000 and the Aston Martin for
over £89,000, formerly the property of a family of chickens!
ALL the Astons
sold and the Jaguar XJ220 has recently also found a new home
post-auction.
Batman stalked the
marquee and was visibly upset went his beloved Batmobile was sold
to another non-superhero.
Historics was also
the first specialist classic car auction house to initiate the use
of an internet bidding system. This pioneering spirit payed off as
over 5% of all cars sold this way with many more interested
parties watching and monitoring.
With a turnover of
over £2.2 million in under 90 minutes, the staff at Historics were
justifiably pleased and looking forword to building on this
success.
All funds were
immediately stored in a Coutts managed client account and payback
took place in 14 days. The sort of good service Auction
Director Edward Bridger-Stille is proud to run the
company on.
